Sacramento River

Water temp 64

Air temp 55

Wind 10-15

Overcast with off and on rain

Went out Sunday for some striper fishing on the Sacramento River with fellow RB Bass angler Wyatt Crow. We started our morning up towards tisdale boat launch and started drifting down. We were using live minnows with a 1/2oz weight making sure to tap bottom every once in a while making sure to keep the minnows close to bottom.

We found all our fish in the 7-9 foot range on rocky banks. Trolling down river just faster then the current. We were going about 2.3-2.5mph anything faster and they didn’t seem to like it. Caught fish from 18” up to 22” in length. We were on the water and fishing around 9:30 and fished until 2:30. The bite wasn’t super hot for us and ended the day with 3 fish.

The river is the lowest I’ve seen it in a long time. So if you are out on the river be careful as there are lots of logs and some sand bars.
