Blustery weather moved in to the Lake Almanor area this week, according to Doug Neal at Almanor Fishing Adventures. "Prior to the north wind we had a strong salmon bite going on", reported Neal. "It was on the east shore in the area called Skinny Dip Beach. Best bet was mooching with bait six feet off the bottom, something like a half-nightcrawler or anchovy tail with Pro-Cure scent did well.

"Most of these salmon are two-year olds weighing around two pounds. There have been a couple of kings in the six-pound class reported already this season. They are the best fighting fish in the lake."
