Blustery weather moved in to the Lake Almanor area this week, according to Doug Neal at Almanor Fishing Adventures. "Prior to the north wind we had a strong salmon bite going on", reported Neal. Best bet was mooching with bait six feet off the bottom, something like a half-nightcrawler or anchovy tail with Pro-Cure scent did well.
"Most of these salmon are two-year olds weighing around two pounds. There have been a couple of kings in the six-pound class reported already this season. They are the best fighting fish in the lake."
