Day one of 2021 started out on the right foot and I'm happy to report that the steelhead/trout fishing in Redding is really good!  With really low flows, its been hard for us to access some of our favorite steelhead/trout water with our big power boats.  Captain Justin Thompson thoughtfully engineered a low water sloution, and after just a few weeks of waiting for his new custom river drifter, he's back in action in downtown Redding!  Captain Kenny Turner and I jumped in Justin's new boat today and we were catching some great fish on our first drift.  It was supposed to be a test run in the new boat, but after the boat checked out, we had some time to make a few casts.  We hooked fish on every pass and even had a few doubles with some pretty impressive trout.  After months of low water woes, it was good to get out and get into some really good fishing.  Captain Justin will be running his new boat for steelhead/trout fishing trips on the Sacramento, Trinity, and Smith Rivers in the months ahead.  If you haven't booked your 2021 steelhead fishing trip, Captain Justin Thompson has  availability through winter and into spring.  Call Jaynie at (530) 510-2925 to get your steelhead fishing trip set up soon.  Its going to be a great year on the water!
