Lake Oroville tournament

The annual "Lake Oroville Open" bass tournament will take place tomorrow [Saturday Apr25] at the Spillway Launch. Late signups will be taken at the Spillway on Saturday morning starting at 3:30 AM, and right up until the Blast Off at safe light. Fishing is expected to be excellent, and the slot-waiver is in effect. The event is the largest locally-organized tournament of the year on Lake Oroville.

A large selection of great raffle prizes will be available to contestants and spectators alike. The Chico Bass Club puts on the event as a fundraiser for its various projects, including the "Hooked on Fishing" children's fishing days in Chico and Gridley, along with the Lake Oroville Florida-strain bass stocking project.

First-place prize of $500 is based on a full field of 100 two-person teams. This years' new lower entry fee of $60 per team includes a Bar-b-que dinner and big fish option. Weigh-in will start at 2:30 PM, and the public is invited to attend.
