The Sacramento River near Anderson is fishing in true fall fashion.  The fall salmon run is winding down with some big fish coming to the boats daily.  We're starting to see some steelhead show up in the mix as well, but the steelhead fishing will improve continuously until December-January.  Drifting roe has still been our #1 technique and will likely remain so until we start fishing for late fall Kings in November and December.  Coleman National Fish Hatchery in Anderson currently has big numbers of fall Kings and Battle Creek is loaded with fish with more to come every day.  It sounds like we will definitley have a big enough return to raise another 12 million fall salmon for the release into the Sacramento River in the spring.  Lets hope we see a good winter and we have some high water events this spring when these young salmon make their journey to the Pacific Ocean.
