Warmer weather means big improvement in the action at Lake Almanor, reported Doug Neal at Almanor Fishing Adventures. "Lake Almanor is like a keg of dynamite, and the fuse is lit", quipped Neal.

"The best bite has been working worms right near the shoreline. We are getting lots of 15 to 18 inch browns and some bigger rainbows over four pounds. Best bets are nightcrawlers or Rapalas trolled on a side planer, or white tube jigs and silver spinners cast near shore. Once it gets warm enough for bug activity, anglers can start moving out away from shore and return to all the usual places."
