Sacramento River-Red Bluff, California

The Sacramento River salmon run has continued to build everyday as quality hard fighting king salmon are being hooked and landed daily.  The peak Sacramento River salmon season is quickly approaching as the most king salmon should congregate in the largest schools in late August and all of September.

Backbouncing sardine wrapped "old style" kwikfish plugs has been the best early in the mornings.  Switching over to salmon roe as the sun hits the river is a great choice later in the mornings.  Drifting or backbouncing roe tipped with a brightly coloered puff ball is all it takes to hook up on the Sacramento River.  River flows are fantastic and river water temperatures are great for a quality king salmon fishing trip.

If catching king salmon in a beautiful river setting is something that interest you give guide Dave Jacobs of Professional Guide Service a call at (530)646-9110
