We're catching some great salmon this year and theres a lot of them.  Captain Justin and I got our clients into some great fishing today.  I got messages from a few other anglers on the water today and they did really good too!  Its great to see so many people enjoying this fishery this season.  We got an early start and had our limits before 10:00 am today.  Mostly King salmon, but a few rainbows in the mix as well.  The plankton blooms and new baby Shad schools are once again prolific in Shasta Lake.  Its just a short time away from reaching the summer feeding frenzy.  Most of the trout and salmon we're catching have empty stomach's, but we are seeing one or two fish in the bunch now that have started feeding on the Shad.  The Shad bite is like a light switch, and it should be turning on any day now.
