The Sacramento River in Redding is host to a robust population of steelhead and rainbow trout.  Every spring the bite really picks up, and although the river is closed to fishing above the SR 44 bridge in Redding, the Sacramento River below is very productive for steelhead and trout up to 5 pounds.  Side drifting egg patterns or Dick Nite spoons is a very productive way to entice these fish from a power boat.  20 to 30 fish days are relatively easy to accomplish mostd days on the river, especially when we see a good bite.  Ultra light tackle makes even the smaller fish a blast to catch!  This is a catch and release fishery, but its one of the most popular fishing destinations in northern California.  When the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, we'll be running guided fishing trips once again.  Thank you!
