Pardee Lake Recreation Inc. will re-open for the 2009 season at 5 am Thursday, February 5th for campers and recreation vehicles and fishing the following day Friday, February 6th.

All facilities and services (except the pool) will be available on opening day. Stop by and check out the breakfast and lunch menus at the Caf??. You are sure to find your favorite is available. Our full service Marina continues to stock beer, soda, snacks, coffee and some marine supplies. The bait and tackle offered for sale has been selected to be area specific and proven to be highly successful in the region. The knowledgeable Marina staff can also tell you what's currently working (bait-lures) and where. Boat reservations are recommended since opening day usually books up quickly.

Lake level is just about the same as at closing, 15 feet below spill. The water is cold and clear. Not much rain this winter so far so lots of shallow spots along the shoreline and islands where there usually aren't any. Little or no debris in the water so launching conditions are favorable.

There have been numerous off-season plants by California Fish and Game totaling 7,000 lbs. Pardee Lake Inc will plant 6000 lbs. prior to opening and 4000 more on opening day. Also tagged fish will be planted and prizes awarded to those that catch them. So lots of planters and hungry holdovers are all ready for something irresistible to pass by. This should make for a great opener.

Bank anglers?Ķ.power bait or maggots on a sliding sinker set up, 30 feet from shore at the launch ramp, Rainbow Point or Stony Creek Landing.

Trollers?Ķ.two or three colors of lead core 10-25 ft down, small lures or a scented night crawler in the Narrows, face of the Dam or the River mouth.
