Shasta Lake is starting to turn the corner towards its winter pattern and the trout fishing will steadily improve looking forward.  We landed 11 rainbows and 1 brown yesterday, all of which were caught on the McCloud arm of the lake.  Water temps are ranging from 56 degrees at the lower end of the lake to 45 degrees where the McCloud River enters Shasta Lake.  This next set of storms should cool the lake even more and the main body of the lake should finally cool to temps in the low 50's.  This will pull most of the trout to the surface and the activity up top will be real good once again.  The lake levels are looking great and water color is quite clear.  Windy weather ahead and some run off from inbound rains will be good for the bite in the weeks ahead I believe.  I would also expect to start seeing a few more big browns in the net very soon as well.  Stay tuned for more Shasta Lake fishing reports as we push deeper into our December lake fishing schedule.  Thank you!
