The lake temperature has been in the lower to mid-60s the bass bite is the real highlight of this week with many large and smallmouth bass being caught using their favorite bait, nightcrawlers! If you are fishing from shore the south end fo out lake provides the perfect habitat for the bass to spawn right now so anywhere in that area from shore using nightcrawlers or long thin plastic worms will get the bass to give your line some attention. The Texas rig is usually the way to go when the bass are handing out in the cattail patches that cover the lake. If you have a boat going out and hitting the rock points along the lower and upper narrows the you bounce your worm off the rock let it drop and you can really get a nice reaction bite out of it. The bass have also been know to hit Kastmasters or spinnerbaits as the shad imitations work well for most fish out here.

The trout are still active with many of our shore fishermen hooking up along the east beach using corn yellow power bait or chartreuse orange mice tails these boats also work well out in the various coves around the lake if you have a boat to reach them in these coves the rout can usually be found in the shallow water. If you are trying to toss lure at the trout, you can throw a small jerk baits, or Kastmaster, I usually go 1/8th or lower with the size.

The striper bite has picked up out here with a few nice stripers being picked up on anchovies along the narrow as the spring terns into summer, be on the lookout for the striped bass boils in Heron Bay.

The catfish bite has been doing well with many of out catfish being caught on the paints along the shore or at the fallen trees that they like to nest at. Anchovies or mackerel are usually their favorite bait to bite you can also try check liver if it is lat Erin the day you can also find the catfish in the weed mats as well moving with the carp.

The perch fishing out here is going well with quire a few large crappie caught as well as many bluegill throwing red worms or min nightcrawlers at the weed patched around the shore should have these fishing on your line within seconds if not just reel in recast!
