Santa Margarita Lake Fishing Report

Fishing is still on the bright side. Pan fish has been active around Vaca Flat, as well as the cove near the Marina. Nice bluegill and redear have been pulled in using worms, as well as jigs. Bass are still active, but not as they were last week. Crankbait, swimbait and senkos have been doing well. Catfish, up to 17 pounds are being hauled in at the grassy areas around lake using Mackeral as well as chicken livers and anchovies.

Temperature was taken at the Marina. Fishing has been robust this week. Bass are hitting on Senkos and still appear to be more active at the Narrows swallower grassy area of the lake. Catfish are hitting on various baits, but anchovies are the more popular this week. Swallow grassy areas appear to be the hot spot.
