GENERAL CONDITIONS

The boat ramp is finished, and boaters may resume launching at Contra Loma!

Reminder to boaters: All watercrafts (including float tubes) need to have a wearable Coast Guard approved personal floatation device (PFD) per person. Children age 12 and under must wear personal floatation device (PFD) while the vessel is underway.

Fishing has picked up for trout and black bass.

The reservoir is re-filling, but is still slightly lower than usual.

TROUT

Trout are biting almost anywhere around the lake. Try using lures, Powerbait or night crawlers.

CATFISH

Try fishing for catfish at Channel Point or Loma Island with anchovies, nightcrawlers or chicken livers. Boaters have been doing well toward the middle of the reservoir or along the dam.

BASS

Black Bass have been biting with artificial baits/lures or nightcrawlers anywhere around the lake or from boats. Many of the larger bass seem to be stalking the stocked trout, and some anglers are reporting success by throwing swim baits on the near shoreline, mimicking the stocked trout.
