Klamath River Fish Report
Klamath River - Upper - CA - Hornbrook, CA (Siskiyou County)

2-25-2007
The Klamath River releases at Iron Gate are 2,920cfs. Seiad Valley flows are
5,890cfs @ 6.4ft. Happy Camp flows are est. at about 6,500. Orleans flows are
14.4Kcfs @ 9.7ft. Water flows at Weitchpec are about 33K cfs with water temps of 48
degrees & air temps at 42 degrees. Klamath at 101 Bridge is 36.9Kcfs @ 17.7ft and
water temperatures are 49 degrees. Last weeks temps for the Trinity Valley were
55/36 degrees with 8.1 inches of rain and 1.5in snow. Next weeks forecast is for
47/35 degrees with rain and showers thru Friday. This latest storm did bring in much
more snow at the higher elevations, up to 2ft more. This late snow pack is going to
add more water for the Spring Water Flows.
The Mid-Klamath is blown out at this time but if we don't get a lot more rain this
week it should come back into good fishing condition by next week. The Upper Klamath
is just the opposite; it is in good fishing condition from the Seiad Valley up to
Iron Gate. There is a trout for the fly-fishers and some small adults in the Happy
Camp area for bank fishermen. Most of the drift boats held off of the water this
weekend because of the snow. I guess that some of the bank fishers are a little more
hearty or don't let the weather stop them from fishing for winter Steelies. Until
next time------
