Tomorrow marks the opening of Loch Lomond for the 2007 season. Ranger Dave Brookes reminds us that the California Department of Fish and Game has already made one plant of nearly 4000 trout in the lake this year, and expects another plant sometime next week. Loch Lomond is an excellent trout fishery during the early spring months, while the water stays cool. Visibility at the lake is 12 feet and the fishing should be very good there for the next few weeks. Trolling nightcrawlers, powerbait or shiny lures works well for the trout at Loch Lomond, while bank anglers find the best success using powerbait rigged with a sliding egg sinker.
