GENERAL CONDITIONS

Weather has been warm and sunny for the most part with winds picking up later in the morning. Water has been a little muddy but that hasn’t turned off the bite one bit.

STRIPED BASS

Stripers have been caught with keepers coming in anywhere from 18”-26” almost on a daily basis. Got word of a hot striper bite over Easter weekend with striper coming in off live jack smelt. Best baits have been Pile Worms, Anchovies, and live Jack smelt. If you can catch one you’re in business!

STURGEON

The Sturgeon bite has been decent still with a couple coming in off the pier every week for the last month. An oversize 67” was caught and released last Friday from the pier. Ghost Shrimp, Pile Worms, and Sardines on a steel sturgeon rig have been producing. Muddy waters tend to be preferable while sturgeon fishing. Remember get your sturgeon tags if you plan on keeping one. 40-60” fork length is the keeper size slot.

OTHER SPECIES

Jack smelt are starting to show up around the pier once again! Sharks and Bat Rays have been showing up again the last couple weeks, but still a little slow for them. Try Squid on a bottom sliding rig, 2-5 oz weight should hold bottom.
