It has been one hell of long Salmon season on the upper Klamath River. Today was the 45th straight day I have fished for Salmon, a record for me and coincidentally it happened in my 20th season on the river. Yup, I may have touched on the old side HAHAHA!!! My clients Lou Sr and Jr hooked up 15 Salmon today, landing 9 and keeping 6. The Salmon are still biting pretty well in the morning, but the bite really died off after about 11:30am today. At this point they are still fun to catch but I'd say after today keeping them would not be good. It should be a great season for Winter Steelies after such a long extended Salmon season. There are a lot of Trout and some larger Steelhead in the river and they are both feeding heavily on eggs right now. Eggs patterns and bait right on the bottom are working best.

I am booking fly fishing trips as well bait and plugs for the Winter Steelhead season, so pick your poison and give me a call.
