Mac McCorkle from Simi Valley, CA with a fat 4 pound 1 ounce Rainbow that he landed while fishing near the Inlet. Mac was using a Needlefish.

Alexia from Fillmore, CA with a great catch at the South Shore with a worm.

Hinson of Yucaipa, CA caught a nice fish along the North Shore. He landed a 2 pound 4 ounce Rainbow using Salmon Peach Powerbait.

Tactics/Bait: Some of the most productive lures were Thomas Buoyants, Panther Martins and Kastmasters. Mice Tails and Sierra Slammers were hooking fish this week. Jig colors reported to be working well were orange and green. If you plan on trolling, I'd tie on a Tasmanian Devil or a Needlefish. The top Powerbait colors were Rainbow, Salmon Egg and Yellow. In the creek try Salmon Eggs, small spinners or Marvel Flies. The hot location this week was the South Shore. Alternative locations to try would be the Inlet, North Shore, Jetty/Outlet Area and Hangman's Tree.

Here is a list of other baits/lures that can be productive: Panther Martins, Tasmanian Devils, green or brown Marvel Fly Lures, Kastmasters, NeedleFish, Roostertails, and garlic scent on Powerbait.

Here is a list of recommended flies:

Dry Flies: Adams, Female Adams, Cutter's Caddis, Elk Hair Caddis, Stimulators, Black/Red Ants, Sierra Bright Dot, Royal Coachman and Hoppers.

Streamers: Wooly Bugger (black, brown, olive, or green), Mutuka (black, brown, olive, or green), Hornberg, and Muddler Minnows.

Wet Flies(Nymphs): Prince Nymph, Flashback Pheasant Tail, Hare's Ear, Zebra Midge (red and black), Copper John (red and copper) and San Juan Worm (brown or red).

Weather: The forecast has sunny skies with a slight chance of afternoon thunder storms at the start of next week. The high temps starting Monday will be in the high-70's and the lows will be in the high-50's. Here is the National Weather Service link that is usually quite accurate: 7-Day Forecast Convict Lake.

Sunrise - Sunset: Sunrise this week 5:35am - 5:34am and Sunset 8:13pm - 8:17pm.

Stocking: We stocked 400 pounds of trophy trout on June 2nd. The DFW is scheduled to plant both the lake and creek next week.
