There is a reason why Santa Ana River Lakes is also known as the "Big Fish Lakes". There was 10 trout caught last week alone that were all over 10 pounds. Heaviest fish for the week is a monster 50 pound catfish caught & released fishing the night session. Henry Manzo of Pico Rivera caught & released a 50 pound catfish using mackerel fishing in the catfish lake. Jay Tids of Northridge caught a 18 pound 1 ounce trout using rainbow PowerBait fishing at Sandy Beach in the Big Lake. Lurline Ikeda caught a 14 pound 8 ounce trout using a pink/white mouse tail fishing at Levitz corner.Jay Tids of Northridge caught a 18 pound 1 ounce trout Sante Morrone of La Habra caught a 13 pound 8 ounce trout using a orange/white mouse tail fishing at the Pump House. Kim & Angel Contreras of Brea were fishing overnight 24 hour fishing/camping special and limited out with 15 trout, a mixture of sierra bows & lightning trout. The 15 fish limit weighed in at 23 pounds, the Contreras were using orange/white mouse tails fishing in Chris Pond.
