Silver lake has finally been cleared for stocking this season and 2400 pounds of trout have gone into the lake since Wednesday July 21st. Alpers dropped in 800 pounds of 3 to 5 pounders and 725 pounds of 1 to 2 pounders on Wednesday and DFG put in 1,000 pounds of catchable on Thursday. The action, as you can imagine, has been off the charts. From Wednesday to Saturday afternoon, 29 fish weighing over 2 pounds have been brought in with the biggest being a 7 pound 5 ounce, 25 inch beauty caught by Dan Ontiveros of Sanger trolling with a Red/Gold Thomas Buoyant. Also trolling with Wooly Buggers or Olive Matukas, as well as Tasmanian Devils have been catching some nice fish. From shore, using worms, or all varieties of Power Bait have been doing well. Having patients during the almost four months of not being stocked is finally paying off. We should be back on a weekly schedule of stocking from DFG and we will be purchasing and planting more Alpers in the coming weeks.

Joe Lemire of Rowland Heights caught a 3 lb 13 oz rainbow in his float tube using an Olive Matuka.
Jim Saccone of Ontario caught two nice 4lb 3 oz and 3 lb 11 oz Rainbows in afloat tube using a black Matuka.
Wesley Mottle of Anaheim caught a 3lb 10 oz Rainbow from shore using Garlic Power Bait.
Troy, Amanda, and Ashley DeWolfe of Camarillo caught a nice stringer and a 3lb 12oz and 2lb 8 oz trolling a Rapala and Thomas Buoyant.
