Angling is somewhat slow this spring, but those fishing in the early morning or evening seem to be doing better. Changing techniques can make the difference as well. There have been reports of a few larger browns and tigers being caught in excess of 26 inches.

Anglers should check with the Umpqua National Forest (541-498-2531) for information on camps and ramps. Last report was all the campgrounds and ramps are open. The fish cleaning stations however, are still closed except at the lodge.

Diamond Lake has been stocked with tiger and brown trout. These fish are intended to assist in controlling illegally introduced tui chub. These trout are catch-and-release only and need to be released immediately and unharmed if caught.
