The dorado bite perked-up considerably this past week with some good catches coming from the Pacific side of Cabo. Also in the mix was a near 1 billfish per boat day fished average for the fleets. Overall catches for a total of 30 days fished reflected 26 stripers, (22 released) 2 sailfish released, 48 yellowfin tuna, (school sized fish, 15-20 lbs.) and 118 dorado, (mostly in the 15 lb. range, along with a few larger fish, too).

Cabo Climate: A good mix of sunshine and clouds with temps from 78 nights to 96 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Generally, very good overall with stable temps from the Golden Gate to Gorda Banks at 82-83 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: The Golden Gate Bank and surrounding area was the hot spot for the yellowfin tuna and dorado, along with a few billfish, too.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait and strip bait were working well on the Dorado, as well as the lures. The tuna were taken on both, live bait and a variety off artificials, including cedar plugs, feathers, etc, in varied colors. Live bait best for the billfish.

Live Bait Supply: Good supply available, mostly caballitto, but the supply could be replenished with mackerel at the Golden Gate Bank.
