Water Conditions: Lots of fish visible in the lake, but they really haven't started feeding actively yet. Warm spring weather, however, ought to turn things on any day now. Fishing the current seams typically works best. Midges, buggers, callibaetis, oh my.

Fishing Conditions & Hatches: Lewiston typically fishes very well once spring turns on around mid-March.

Flies: GB Poxyback PMD #18, GB Brassies 20, Chromies! Poxy Back Baetis Nymphs 18 -20 , Woolybuggers 6 -10, Poxyback Callibaetis nymph 16-18 Zebra Midges 16-20's * MicroMayfly nymphs!! * #16-20 PT nymphs and don't forget SCUDS! Try a purple string leech to imitate the landlocked lampreys that fish hate.

The Fly Shop's Tips: You can't go too small. The takes can be subtle and then the takes can Brutal. Strike on every twitch! Be patient, too, sometimes it takes a long, slow drift to pick up fish. A small yarn indicator is a good tip, take heed and try it.
