The flows for most of this last week on the EW were over 500 cfs, this caused the fishing to be very difficult. However , yesterday the flows were dropped down to 285 cfs so it should be game on now!! A couple weeks ago when the flows were this low the fishing was excellent, lots of nymph action with some good streamer action thrown in. I’d be packing lots of small midge patterns as well as some San Juan worms, caddis patterns and some big bushy streamers. I’d be running some 4X leaders for the nymphing and some 3X for the streamers, and be prepared because there are some huge browns in the river right now!
