GENERAL CONDITIONS
LAKE CHABOT 50TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY IS COMING UP ON JUNE 4TH!!!!!
Lake Chabot is hosting a trout derby for kids and adults on June 4th. Tickets are $5 dollars and will benefit the Regional Parks Foundation. The Derby ticket will be good for the event on June 4th (day fishing derby) and also 5th-30th (month long derby). Water level is about 86% full. Trout fishing has been starting to slow down for the last couple weeks but anglers are still pulling out some nice fish. We received 750 lbs. of trout from Mt. Lassen on the 9th and also another 1,000 lbs. of trout from Department of Fish and Wildlife on the 14th. Water temperature remains in the low 60’s and water clarity is about 3 feet visibility. The visibility of the water should clear up in the next couple of days depending on the weather.

CATFISH
Catfishing is slow this time of the year, but as we get closer and closer to summer the catfishing actions should pick back up. Until then trout are currently still biting near the dam. Catfishing conditions will improve when the water temperature starts to warm back up.

TROUT
The first dock on the west shore trail have been keeping anglers busy in the morning and trolling across from Raccoon Point have been doing the trick. Trolling deeper has been doing the trick to get trout to bit. Trolling seems to be the best bet by trolling a Firetiger Rapala close to the shore near across from Raccoon point and back by the dam.

BASS
With the warm weather we are expecting this upcoming week, bass fishing should be great. Bass fishing already has been steady for the last several weeks with some bass anglers catching and releasing good numbers. If you do want to try your luck a couple good spots to fish for bass are near the island or in bass cove using a drop shot rig. Please practice catch and release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!
