The water temperature is holding steady at 47 degrees. The water clarity is steadily improving daily with 2 to 3 foot visibility as the lake continues to fill. We received 1000Ibs of Mt Lassen trout this week. Trout fishing has been slow this week, but is showing signs of improvement. Shore anglers are starting to catch them at the South End. We have had no reports from boaters. Bait you want to use is Bright colors of Power Bait, night crawlers, Pautzke Salmon eggs, and mice tails. If you like to use Lures, Kastmasters, Rooster Tails, and Panther Martins. Stripers are still deep with anglers targeting them. You can try deep areas near the Dam. Anchovies, Sardines, Mackerel and chicken Livers work well.

Large and Small mouth Bass are also deep with no reports of anglers catching any. Try fishing around rock walls and downed trees.

Catfish are still the hot ticket. Ricky Graica of Livermore went out Saturday 1-30- 16 and caught a Lake record, Blue Catfish. It weighed in at 34lbs Soz. Ricky then went out on Sunday 1-31-16 and caught three channel cats, the biggest weight in at 14Ibs 8oz. Shore anglers are also catching from the South end. Best bait to use is Anchovies, Sardines, Mackerel and chicken livers. Remember, you cannot have catching days without fishing days Tim Wood
