Water Levels Up

Lake Chabot - Castro Valley, CA (Alameda County)

Water temperature continues to drop. This past week trout fishing was a little slow with no reports of trout. The rain this past week did muddy up the water quite a bit, but as soon as it starts to settle, trout fishing should pick back up again.

CATFISH
Catfishing had a rough year here at Chabot. Typically catfishing this time of the year is fairly slow, but with rain expected later on this week it might be enough to stir them up and make catfishing more active.

TROUT
No report of trout getting caught this past week, but hopefully this will change in the near future. Until then, check out our Facebook page to keep updated on current fishing conditions.

BASS
Bass fishing has been steady for the last several weeks with some bass anglers catching and releasing good numbers. If you do want to try your luck, a couple of good spots to fish for bass are near the island or in bass cove. Please practice catch and release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!

All of our boats are half off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays!

Mt Lassen planted 1000 pounds of trout at the public launch. Water temperature is still around 50 degrees. Trout are eating all over the lake and that’s the only species caught this week. Salmon eggs and rooster tails are best this week. Good luck everyone and Merry...... Read More
