The Ormsby Sportsmen's Association (OSA) of Carson City is involved with a number of other groups in the donation of fishing poles and reels to the 18th annual Kids' Fishing Derby, which will be held at Gardnerville's Lampe Park on June 2-3.

OSA provided the necessary funding for the purchase of about 25-30 brand new poles and reels.

In addition, there are another 15-20 reconditioned poles and reels that have been donated to the derby.

Other entities involved in this effort include: Wal-Mart, The Iron Horse Cantina, Goodi's Lemonade and Master Motive Tech.

The poles and reels project is under the direction of Roy Huett of OSA.

For information, call OSA President Bob "Slick" McCulloch at 882-6810.
