The dorado bite has soared since the passing of Lowell and many of the boats have focused on this action, lowering the billfish counts. High boat for the week was the "GAVIOTA VIII", Captain Juan Dominguez, reporting 6 stripers released for 5 fishing days, along with 61 dorado and 2 yellowfin tuna. The "Blacksheep III", skippered by Captain Tony Nungary, early released an estimated 500 lb. black marlin, following a near 30-minute battle. Overall combined counts for the boats reflected a total of 27 fishing days, resulting in 15 stripers, (14 released) 21 yellowfin tuna and 188 dorado. This was a full moon week that had little effect on the fishing results, perhaps with exception to the striper action. CABO CLIMATE: Mostly sunny and warm, temps from 76 nights to 96 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Generally very good with some wind chop on the Pacific side, but fishable, with temps from 83 at the Golden Gate and rising to 86 on the Sea of Cortez side.

Best Fishing Area: Continues to be in the Golden Gate Bank area

Best Bait/Lure: The billfish best on live bait and the dorado have been pretty eager on artificials, live bait and strip bait.

Live Bait Supply: Not reported.
