Almanor in holding pattern

: Surface temps reaching 47 degrees at midday. Clarity: East Basin, poor; about 2 feet at the Hamilton Branch; 6 feet at Canyon Dam; West Basin is improving to 10 feet. The PGE Powerhouse at the Hamilton Branch is still sending in brown water from nearby Walker Lake. Clarity around the entire east side. Lake Almanor is not ready yet, but we are very close to an eruption of activity. Aquatic insect hatches are just starting to show, very little, but starting. Smelt are moving toward shoreline or deep structure as their spawning mode has started. Big browns are following them in. Ripping Rapalas along the shoreline or in coves can get a whopper.
