Overnight lows in the Bridgeport area have kept the East Walker pretty iced up. There have been days when it was completely unfishable. Look for warmer tempatures to thaw out the East Walker and for the fishing to pick up in coming weeks. Mason Valley Wildlife Area opens the 2nd Saturday of February. This includes Hinkson Slough and the Cooling Ponds.

Fishing overall has been a little slow. As always this time of year the anlgers that move around and find the fish are doing better. The anglers that continue to pound the nets area are not doing very good. Brian Sullivan caught and released two fish over 4 pounds last weekend while fishing the South end of the lake. there have been other reports of fisherman doing pretty decent on the South end.
