Striped bass have moved up the river and are taking blood worms and sardines from Freepot to Verona. A lot are shakers are being caught – figure on three to four shakers for every keeper but most keepers are four to seven pounds. Biggest recently was a 10 pounds. Trollers go to Knight’s Landing and use shallow-diving Yozuris to get stripers. Sturgeon fishing is fair but most of the attention is on the striped bass. Where Prospect Slough and Libon Slough meet is a hot spot. Freeport Bait (916) 665-1935
