The fishing conditions in the Mammoth Basin are very good & the lakes are being stocked

Water Conditions: The water is clear in the lakes included in the Mammoth Lakes basin.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Fishing conditions are good to great...the lakes are getting stocked heavily. Float tubes are recommended to pull streamers with at least a type 3 sink line. if fishing from shore, dries will be more effective early morning or later in the evening.

Recommended Flies:

DRIES:
skittering midge, humpy, royal wulff, griffith gnats, callibaetis dries, sierra brite dot, midge dries, extended body bwo, parachute ants

NYMPHS: birds nest, hares ear, variety of midges, ap emerger, pheasant tail, callibaetis nymphs, wd40, san juans

STREAMERS: crystal bugger, punk perch, doc twin specials, hornbergs, double bunny, belly ache minnow
