Some anglers are getting into numbers of steelhead while others have to work hard for a hook-up. Remember, steelhead are always on the move and can be elusive. The good news is more steelhead are on the way with good reports coming out of Willow Creek, some 62 miles to the west of Lewiston. These fish are headed for the upper Trinity and looking for your stonefly pattern! January looks like another great month on the Trinity!

The Fly Shop's?? Tips: A variety of techniques, using your 8-9wt rod for Salmon, or a more adaptable 5-6 wt fly rod for small steelhead and aggressive browns will tie you into fish. Suspending nymphs under an indicator, stripping buggers and leeches, swinging muddlers or PT nymphs will produce hook-ups! Even dry flies should be in the plan. Bring a parachute Adams! Hey! The King Salmon will eat nymphs suspended under indicators. What a blast!
