Erik Patzner, a long-time LV angler, landed what may be the second largest striper at Los Vaqueros on Christmas Eve.

Weighing in at 36 pounds, Marina Manager Chris Senti said this may be the second-largest striper ever landed at LV and is the first "big fish" seen at the reservoir in some time. "I haven't seen a striper of more than five or six pounds in five or six months," he said.

Erik isn't telling where he caught it or any other details of the catch, though he did catch it with a "swim bait" called the "Huddleston Deluxe" and was fishing from an electric rental boat. He was alone on the boat, took the picture above with the Huddleston Deluxe, and the soon-to-be released fish.

The fish was not weighed on the Marina's scale, so would not be considered for a record. But there is little doubt this was a huge fish.
