Fishing still on fire Monday and Tuesday, but it deteriorated due to the fish coming out of the lake. Everyone was happy as they loaded their limits into their vehicles. Weather took an upturn and we got a second great week of beautiful weather, mornings have been running 48 to 51 degrees. Afternoons have been breezy giving the fish better cover making it easier for the angler also. Wednesday turned up some clouds and we finally got a few drops of rain on Friday. Stocking DFG is still their weekly poundage, and the fishing has been fun and the catching sensational.

Backcountry is fishing great with small dries get up here and enjoy the fall colors as they will peak around Oct. 7 and bring your best camera, I prefer film but then it's your choice. Aspens are blowing off some of the trees along the Virginia Lakes Road.

Flies for the rod-benders: Olive crystal flash wooly buggers, rust Twin Lakes Special with a Griffith's Gnat as the 2nd fly, naked Grey Hackle Yellow, naked Olive Caddis, Rickard's seal bugger and AP emerger still holding their positions.
