The lake dropped to 76 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing remained solid. Poppers and walking baits were a fun way to start the fishing day last week with plenty of topwater action on spotted bass and white bass. Drop shot, shaky heads, and darter head jigs worked well in 5 to 20 feet of water after recreational boat traffic picked up. Catfish were reliable on cut mackerel, dip baits, and nightcrawlers, and crappie ate minijigs and small live minnows.
