Fishing has been very good

The lake fell to 19 percent of capacity, and fishing has been very good. Bass anglers reported hooking up early on topwater, swimbaits, and crankbaits. After mid-morning the bite has been moving deeper in the water column, and anglers used spoons, drop shot, and darter head grubs to score bites. Shad imitation baits have been the best way to fool the plentiful spotted bass. The white bass bite remained hot, and anglers used trolling techniques to locate biting fish. Spoons, small white swimbaits, and in-line spinners have been the baits of choice. Topwater worked to fool plenty of healthy white bass as well. Catfish fell for chicken liver and cut baits in deeper water around the lake.
