Water temps rose into the upper seventies, and bass fishing has been good. Anglers had to fish in the mornings and evenings to avoid the winds and holiday boat traffic, but the bite was solid. Senkos, drop shot, and Ned rigs worked for bites along bluff walls and near rocky structure. Green Pumpkin, Ox Blood, and Aaron’s Magic all worked well. Jerkbaits fooled small and largemouth in the mudlines after the wind picked up. Striper anglers reported another good week of boil fishing. Topwater, small swimbaits, and Alabama rigs fooled plenty of fish. The key has been to creep up on the boiling fish and make long casts. Catfish anglers used chicken liver and cut sardines for bites in deeper coves around the lake.
