Pyramid is usually a few weeks behind Castaic Lake on the timing of the spring bite, so things should improve soon. In the meantime, anglers reported good striper fishing while trolling flies and umbrella rigs or soaking cut baits. Wind has big a big problem for anglers with near gale force gusts almost every day. Bass anglers have focused on Castaic, but a few brave anglers reported fair bass fishing on Texas rigged worms and Senkos. There’s also been a crankbait bite in the mornings. Catfish went for chicken liver, dip bait, and cut baits near the marina. Trout anglers did well while using minijigs, dough bait, and nightcrawlers in the marina, and there was a trout plant last week.
