Anglers reported a good bass bite with large and smallmouth taking finesse baits and reaction baits. Senkos, drop shot, and Carolina rigs all worked in 5 to 20 feet of water. The only issue has been the wind which helped the jerkbait and small swimbait bite. Scattered striper went for cut sardines, anchovies, and lugworms in 25 to 50 feet of water near the buoy line of Slalom Cove. They also fell for trolled flies, small swimbaits, and the occasional magnum sized swimbait. Catfish ate cut baits, garlic nightcrawlers, and dip bait in deeper coves around the lake. Trout anglers reported decent fishing after last week’s plant, and they used Get Bent Baits minijigs, dough bait, and lures to get bite.
