Santa Margarita Lake - CA (San Luis Obispo County)

by Santa Margarita Lake Staff

Well the wait is over.. the shad are here! Bait balls and boils are happening everywhere! Catching bass laying up in spawn beds using jitterbugs and working the bottom. Two 10 pounders were caught this weekend in the bass tournament.

The crappie bite is picking up and being caught mostly in shallow warm water using the same jigs ( white and chartreuse).

The trout bite is still staying consistent with nigh crawlers sold in the marina store along with meal worms and red worms.

The catfish bite has slowed down some but the red ear and all other panfish bite is back in action!

Come check out the new bait wall!! New items in stock! Store now open 7AM-5PM for all your needs. Closed Tuesday-Wednesday.
