Santa Margarita Fishing Report

Santa Margarita Lake - CA (San Luis Obispo County)

by Santa Margarita Lake Staff

Best advise is to try 30-50 feet off shore and down to the bottom. I haven’t heard any luck fishing in the shallow water even in the warmest part of the day right now. Live worms and cut baits down 30-60 feet deep is where the bass are feeding and catfish are wandering. Crappie are down 10-25 feet. They are line shy so use 4 lb. test and a weighted jig head for best results with a look a like plastic minnow.

Catfish must have taken eh week off so no word on them. ...... Read More

Live worms and cut baits will draw some attention even on the slowest days. ...... Read More
