Shogun Report September 9

9-11-2008
Bill Roecker

"The fishing here is very good. Once we arrived our first jig stop produced five wahoo, good grade. After looking around, Norman planted the anchor and we didn't move the rest of the day. It took five minutes for the first yellowfin to bite and then for the rest of the day we had no less than four going at once with at times as many as ten going. They were/are biting! The yellowfin range in size from 20 to 120 pounds with most being in the smaller 20 to 30 class, there may have been 25% of the total catch today that weighed over 50 pounds. Some of the guys did very well on the tuna, so once they were done with those they started up on the dropper loops and heavy jigs which produced a good grade of yellowtail. Yep, it was just one of those days, they were biting."

Shogun will dock at Fisherman's Landing September 13.
