Fishing was fair to good on the Wilson last weekend, despite low and clear conditions. Rains Wednesday through Friday this week are predicted to bring the Wilson up 0.4 ft, which should give it a touch of color and get some fish moving for the weekend.

There are broodstock hatchery fish, and wild fish throughout the system. Float fishing jigs, beads, or bait, drift fishing, nymphing, and swinging flies or spinners are all good techniques. Anglers are reminded that the Little North Fork of the Wilson, and the South Fork Wilson close to steelhead fishing on April 1, to protect spawning wild steelhead and out migrating juveniles; so this Saturday is the last day for winter steelhead on these tributaries. The mainstem remains open.
