Santa Margarita Lake Fishing Report

Santa Margarita Lake - CA (San Luis Obispo County)

Fishing has been doing well. Small bass has been active giving anglers (especially the younger kids) a good time. Bass does not appear to be biting on action baits. No record size have been caught, just smaller one's.

Pan fish especially bluegill and crappie are real active hitting on worms and jigs near shore.

Have not heard of any catfish being brought in this week.

Fishing has improved somewhat. Bass hitting on crankbaits, swimbaits and even night crawlers up at the narrows in shallower water. Catfish being caught off shore near Mackey point off of Mackeral. Panfish doing well off of crappie jigs with meal worms and redworms off shore near the store as well as near the Dam from boats. ...... Read More
