Steelhead fishing is open on the Alsea River and listed tributaries. Fishing is slow. Alsea Hatchery is having a near average return to the hatchery of the early return Alsea stock. The wild broodstock fish should be showing in better numbers as the high water recedes. Casting spinners, drifting bait or using a bobber and jig can be effective.
