Lake Berryessa is crystal clear and the water temperature was averaging around seventy degrees. We started our day up North throwing spooks and poppers,The spook was getting smashed but the fish just swiped at the popper.Every main lake point held a few fish willing to hit the top water baits. After the sun popped up we made a run up the creek and caught-em on TNT jigs, small swim baits and had a ton of followers on the glide baits.I also graphed alot of fish stacked up on bait but couldn't get them to go on the drop-shot.In hind sight the dart-head might have worked. We could see a storm moving in so we ran down South and started fishing the mud lines with a IMA pinjack shad pattern and caught them pretty good considering the conditions. There are huge balls of shad every where and we saw a few on beds to our surprise.Lake Berryessa is a beautiful place this time of year and you always have a chance to catch a pig.But she can also get angry in a hurry with huge waves so always wear your life jacket ,say hydrated and don't take chances.
