Just got back from vacation. Yes, I fished all week out on the Missouri River in Montana. Lot's of fun indeed. Was back at the office today and seems like we continued where we left off. Warm comfortable days, cold nights=good fall fishing on the Truckee River. It's mostly a baetis party out there now, and you should have you favorite micro mays in your box. You can nymph small and small, or big and small, which is how I rig. Golden stones are available to trout year round as well as smaller crayfish, hence the big to small. Worms and eggs are a good bet too now, if you are so inclined to do. Caddis not so much anymore, but rockworm and chezch type nymphs will work all fall and through winter. Streamer fishing should continue to be good until water temps get real cold. Dry dropper rigs, sure. Dries, well, you can have those days on the T, especially if it's overcast. The Cali side will slow down with the onslaught of cold weather, usually that is about the second week of November. The Nevada side fishes well all winter long, except on occasion when we get very, very cold weather. Remember this is Tahoe-Reno, not the Rockies. We can pretty much fish right though 'till next summer.
